HELLO:

My name is Nathan - I'm the cute guy Mr. Lynch is holding in the air. I helped him at my daddy's Beef and Beer. It seems my dad has a lot of friends in the Wildwoods because many of them came out and supported my mom, dad and me. I learned at this Beef and Beer that my father was a very well liked guy at Wildwood High School. I was told all sorts of funny stories, but one thing I was told I already knew... that my dad is a pretty awesome guy. So awesome that he has a nick-name: "Phatz", yep that my dad Big Joe Phatz... he is called that because he is always happy, always joking and a friend to everyone he meets.

Well thanks to me, I bailed out Mr. Lynch during the auction... as you can see I have mastered the art of public speaking at only 20 months. While Mr. Lynch was doing the Auction and my dads friend Mr. Harkins was manning the door collecting money for the 50/50 and Mrs. Brown was selling the Chinese Auction Tickets, and Mrs. Emily and Mrs. Jennifer were walking around selling other items, my dad and his friends were having a really good time.
This was my first time in Tucker's with my mom and dad, and boy was I impressed. The owner Mr. Bob and his manager Big John were very generous to our family. When they saw that the auction was running late they kept the beer going for one more hour. Jim the chef did a great job with the food and the bartenders & servers - well they were just as GREAT... matter of fact I saw many of them with 50/50 tickets and Chinese Auction tickets in their hands.... supporting my daddy!
That's why he is so proud to be a Wildwoodian...
On our way home I heard my mom and dad talking and they were both very touched by the outpouring of love from their friends... They could not believe how people from our community would come out and help in the manner they did. Yes they raised a lot of money - but what I think is most important is that my dad has a big battle ahead of him. And he will have this memory to help him when he is tired or does not feel good and needs to have his spirits lifted - he will be able to remember all of his friends, new and old who came out and provided our family with the support of a community where he was raised.
I want to say thanks to everyone who attended. Everyone who donated a prize. Everyone who purchased a ticket or a 50/50 raffle or a Chinese Auction. I want to thank everyone that raised their arm in the Live Auction. And I definitely want to thank whoever donated the Hess Trucks... I love mine... but I like the one that was Auctioned to Dave for $200.00 even better.
Here is my dad's mom... she even got a Hess Truck!
And My Daddy... Joe "Phatz"...
My Biggest Hero
And I also want to thank my mom's employer - Home Depot - because they told her every dollar we raised at the Beef and Beer will be matched by her company... That's right between all of our friends in Wildwood and those at Home Depot
we were able to raise over
$44,000!!!

Thank You,
Nathan - Joe's Son

As for courage and will - we cannot measure how much of each lies within us, we can only trust there will be sufficient to carry through trials which may lie ahead.
